CSI 2302 Cross Stitched Vase & Fruits
$974.00My name is Faith Gacheri, I am a 31-years-old and I’m serving a sentence at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison. I joined the Cross-Stitch project in 2018 and I worked on this cartoon pattern. I have spent several years in jail but I have never seen such a project. The money I got from it helped me a lot. I sent some to my sister to help her take care of her children and used some in here for my needs. Before the project, we used to waste a lot of time doing nothing. Now it keeps us busy over the weekend whenever there are patterns to work on. We are very happy and thank God for this project

CSI 464 Cross Stitched Bamboo
$633.00My name is David Karua and I am a person living with disabilities. I worked on this cross stitch pattern of a bamboo. It took me one month to complete the piece and I was very happy with the outcome. In the time it took me to complete the pattern, I underwent a mental change because I learnt to focus on one thing at a time and perfect it. Before this, I had no way of earning money but now I am socially and financially empowered by the project. Many people tend to be shocked, wondering why I would be stitching- a preserve considered for women but I paid them no mind when they tried mocking me. I was paid for work done and I used the money to buy livestock. My hopes for the future is to stand on my own feet and to better the lives of my family members.
